Paleokastritsa
Paleokastritsa, one of the most popular and picturesque destinations in Corfu. Every summer, it is visited by thousands of visitors thanks to its breathtaking views. You will be fascinated by its deep blue, crystal-clear waters, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or simply relaxing by the sea. Boat rides are available for those wishing to visit the “Blue Eye,” a stunning underwater spring, and the various sea caves along the bay.
The Monastery of the Virgin Mary
In a short distance uphill lies the historic Monastery of the Virgin Mary, founded in 1225.
This sacred site offers a panoramic view of the Ionian Sea.
Within the monastery, you will find a small museum, rare icons, manuscripts, and religious artifacts.
Vasilakis Distillery
Our journey continues to the traditional distillery “Vasilakis,” a family-owned establishment that showcases Corfu’s artisanal heritage. Here, you will have the opportunity to taste the island’s iconic kumquat liqueur, a product unique to Corfu, along with other local delicacies. The visit also includes a guided explanation of the traditional methods used in the production of these distinctive flavors.
Pontikonisi & Vlacherna Monastery
Pontikonisi — also known as Mouse Island — is one of Corfu’s most iconic landmarks. According to legend, it is the ship of Odysseus turned to stone by Poseidon. Next to Pontikonisi is the Vlacherna Monastery, placed on a narrow causeway, offering one of the most photographed views on the island. From this spot, visitors can also observe the thrilling sight of airplanes landing at the nearby Corfu International Airport, just above the sea.
Mon Repos Palace – A Royal Legacy
Mon Repos Palace, the neoclassical former royal residence, is settled in a lush estate. It is the birthplace of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Queen Elizabeth II.
